It always does the heart some good to volunteer. We at Passing Hats are always looking for volunteers. Do you knit, crochet, loom or sew? Interested in teaching a class, putting together a yarn drive or fundraising? Do you want to pick up hats or deliver them to infusion clinics or hospitals? Are you interested in blogging, social media or getting our labels ready to be placed on hats?
Passing hats is totally voluntary and we count on individuals such as yourself. Words can’t describe the smile or getting a hug from a cancer patient when they get one of our hats. Go to our website www.passinghats.org and fill out our volunteer form and we will get you started.
Do you want to start your own Passing Hats group? We like to keep the hats you make local in your area. We will find a local cancer center near you, provide you with our labels and you’re ready to go. On the Passing Hats website we have looming instructions (videos), suggestions to be aware of when making hats such as no wool, keeping hats away from pets and more. If children’s hats are made they need to be washed and individually bagged before delivering them to the hospital near you.
