2025 has been an amazing year. We have picked up many new volunteers and a few new locations where our hats are being delivered. This year alone, we have made and distributed 15,939 hats. I was thrilled when I received an email from a woman on Maui who wanted to make hats. I was thrilled to find a local hospital near her where she and her group will be delivering hats.
I also want to thank all the individuals who have been receiving our hats, sending me emails on how thankful they are to receive one of our hats. I read those amazing emails to our groups, which place a smile on our volunteers’ faces.
We are also still working with the Faces of Hope program through the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. We are thrilled to be able to mail close to 1000 hats a quarter. Since we have picked up more local hospitals, our numbers have gone down just a little bit this year, but they are still receiving hats every quarter from us. Their Faces of Hope bags go out nationally.
We are always looking for new volunteers to make hats for us. If you don’t know how to knit or crochet, we have a few short, to-the-point videos on this site on how to make loomed hats. If you sew the patients love them in the summertime with the soft jersey material or in colder weather, the felice hats are amazing.
