2017 a good start

We at Passing Hats are off to a great start in 2017. Thank you to Amy Mueller for signing us up for “Dollars for Doers” We received a check for $500.00 to start our year off right.  Thank you to Ann Meader Griffin whose mom is donating a bunch of yarn. We obtained a few key volunteers who will help out by picking up hats from individuals making them so we can continue to distribute hats to our 56 locations in Texas.

For those of you who don’t know I will be relocating to Erie Colorado. We have been asked to make and deliver hats to a number of cancer hospitals and clinics in the Colorado and Montana area. Danielle Dennis and  Janet White will be in charge of Texas. Our groups will continue on with their scheduled days and times. I can still be reached by email Ellen@passinghats.org

We are looking forward to working with Hebron High school on the 4th of February, and thanks to those who have volunteered to help us teach the students that day.

Thank you to those who posted on facebook how many hats we should make this year. The numbers ranged from 17,000 to 20,000.  I thought 18,000 would be a good number. We will hopefully go over but… the challenge is on. Have fun!!

We will continue to add warmth and comfort to cancer patients through a hat made with love.
